Pair of 2 Vintage Orig. Steel 1940 California License Plates 8Y 42 23
.
These items belonged to my father and were stored in his den unused for many years.
I called the DMV and confirmed that this set of plate numbers are not being used and are able to be registered, if wanted.
The bolt holes have a bit of a bend from removal off the wall. There are many scratches on the paint and rust allover in the metal. There is a vertical crease on the top plates left side per the pictures.
These plates are possibly good candidates for restoration (please see pictures closeup).
