Description
Make your own homemade Fermented Sour Cream alternative!Creme Fraiche is a rich cream that is naturally soured. It has a tangy, almost nutty , flavor that is wonderfully smooth. Creme fraiche is thicker, has a richer flavor, and is less tangy than sour cream. No store-bought sour cream can measure up to the fabulous texture and taste of homemade creme fraiche!
You will receive 1 packet of dehydrated Creme Fraiche starter. To rehydrate, place the culture into a glass jar, add 1 cup of heavy cream and cover with a lid or breathable cloth and rubber band. Stir 2 to 3 times a day for 24 to 48 hours. Once it gets thick you can place the jar in the fridge to stop fermentation process. The basic ratio is 1 tbsp of starter to 1 cup of cream. Since it's a true heirloom culture you can keep doing that indefinitely. Enjoy!
