California 1987 license plate pair 2LXL222 tricolor red white and blue 1989

very nice unrestored 100% original California license plate pair. 1987 issue; number 2 LXL 222.  12x6 inches; red and blue legend on reflective white background.  completely straight and flat with excellent original paint as seen in the photos.  fresh out of the barn!  lovely serial number with four twos and two Ls.
these plates are not yet eligible for the DMV YOM program, as the program only is applicable to 1980 or older vehicles.  however, the California legislature is due to extend the program for 1980s and 1990s vehicles soon, and these should be applicable for 1987 to 1993 vehicles, as those were the years that the tricolor (embossed red state name) plates were made.  at that point, you will be able to register them to your vehicle.  (no, I don't know when that point will occur!)
