Antique Russian Brass Plaquette 7 coloured enamel 18-19ct
This piece is nothing short of spectacular!
All of the research I have done on this piece states that it is antique circa 19th century Old Believer’s workshop in central Russia. This is a Plaquette of the resurrection and decent to the Hades of Jesus Christ. Measures 4” x 4.5”.
The “G” marked on the back is said to represent in the most simplistic of terms “God.”
The letter G in Freemasonry stands for both the Great Architect of the Universe and Geometry....or, to be more technically correct, it stands for Geometry under the Great Architect of the Universe.
