Antique icon of St. Seraphim the Wonderworker of Sarov, the beginning of the 20th century (1903-1917). The letter is of a very good level, in an academic style.
The prototype of the icon was a lifetime portrait of an old man, letters from Semyon Serebryakov (later he took the tonsure c named Joseph) made from nature for several years before the death of the monk (in 1828).
tempera, coinage on levkas, cold enamels, gold leaf, end dowels. The icon came to us almost in an unopened form, it was only cleaned of dirt and collected a few small chips (photo to the last), I tried to show everything as much as possible in the photo. The icon size is 180 x 150 mm.
