Active Probiotic Kefir Grains About Kefir Grains Kefir is a delicious and healthy probiotic milk drink, similar to yogurt but with even more health benefits. It’s a great way to colonize the system. Kifer is a nutrition that helps to restore our inner ecosystem, acts like a natural antibiotic. Drinking kefir on regular basis will support the balance of your intestinal flora. It improves our resistance against diseases and supports healthy bowel movement. I make kefir for myself and my family but I have a huge number of grains so I decided to sell them .
I assume you already know some of the benefits of making your own kefir!!
this is just a quick guide of what to do as you begin to grow and harvest your grains and what you will need to keep them happy and growing.
-Glass, ceramic or plastic container with a loose fitting lid, or cloth to cover it.
    -Plastic strainer
-Plastic or wooden spoon or spatula
*do not use metals, kefir do not like the vibrations and will cause them to perish.
    1) When your grains first arrive add them to your container with a little bit of milk (2-4oz) depending on how much kefir you bought… but you just want enough to cover them so that they will recuperate from their travels and so that you can see within 24 hrs that they are in fact alive and working.
    a. You will notice the milk will go from liquid to creamy, bubbly (as seen on picture) thick and even have a yogurt-ish smell (sour.. but not sour bad as in a foul odor, just an acidic smell)
    b. After aprox. 24 hrs.. pour your batch and strain, this small batch of kefir can be disposed of.. you want to do this once or maybe twice what ever you are comfortable with .. once you are ready to begin producing drinkable kefir.. give them a quick just water rinse (this can be done by putting your strainer right under the faucet and giving them a shake.. just a couple...
