    Description

    An attractive first flight cover for Pan American Airways Inc. flight from Panama to New York. The envelope is Panama Higgins & Gage #FB1, the 2 centavo Coat of Arms air mail envelope from 1929 additionally franked with Scott #C1, the surcharged 25 centavo on 10 centavo air mail stamp from 1929, issued the day before this flight. The stamp is tie to the cover by a difficult to read Agencia Postal, Panama duplex cancel dated February 9, 1929. There is a violet two-line hand stamp : "PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS, Inc." and "PRIMER VUELO". A violet circular marking from the Agencia Postal Panama R. de P. with an error spelling of "Internacional" (missing the "r"). On the reverse is a violet marking of the Central American Plumbing & Supply Co., Panama. This cover measures 162mm x 92mm. See scans for condition.
